A customer was dealing with a moisture-damaged, rotting basement access door and needed a sturdy, waterproof solution. The solution we devised at Carlson’s Handyman Service involved some clever use of the material she provided – a piece of marine-grade plastic. Turning this plastic piece into a door required special handling to prevent any potential cracking or splitting. We took this challenge head-on and successfully integrated a series of detailed adjustments, such as backing each bolt on the hinges to prevent the bolt head from splitting the plastic. The old wooden door frame was primed, caulked, and painted post the custom basement access door installation. This labor-intensive process shows the level of care and attention to detail we bring to every project, contributing to a long-lasting solution for our customer. Get an estimate today!
