At Carlson’s Handyman Service, we recently had the pleasure of rejuvenating a door that had seen a bit too much love from some happy dogs. The owners would come home to a flurry of excited clawing, which left the door in need of some serious TLC. We started by removing damaged trim and filling in the scratch marks. Then, we primed the door and trim, and finished with two coats of Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane trim paint. But we didn’t stop there. The exterior portion was worn and weathered, so we lightly sanded it to even out the surfaces. We then applied an oil-based gel stain in a rich Java color.
