A client setting up a new office had many Commercial Property Maintenance tasks for me to do.
This new office had a punch list of items to get it ready for its grand opening.
Signage: The signs came with pre-drilled holes, but the holes were too small for the standoffs I was going to use. So, I created a jig that allowed me to make the holes bigger and more accurate. There was only one chance to get the hole right.
Doors: I took a proactive approach and suggested more robust strike plates for added security. Despite the door being tight, I ensured the strike plate was chiseled into the door frame for maximum security.
Mail Slot: I meticulously adjusted the flap to ensure it would open properly, leaving no room for error.
Emergency Exit Light: The opening in the drywall was in poor shape, so I added reinforcing on one side of the drywall so that when the electrician installed the electrical box, it had something to attach to.
Weather Sealing: I caulked the door thresholds to prevent water intrusion.
Fire Extinguisher: I installed a mount onto the wall to hang the fire extinguisher.
